Study: Poor Web sites lose business
Organizations are losing business with Web sites that fail the consumer, according to a recent Empirix survey. While the home page may look good, problems elsewhere in the site my be alienating customers.
The 2000 U.K. consumers who participated in the survey reported that major banks, retailers and travel companies are being let down by their Web sites. Nine out of 10 users gave up on a transaction after three tries, and a third never returned to a site that let them down, said the survey. Web users will not tolerate poor web application performance, said Empirix, which provides targeted testing and monitoring solutions for companies.
